IceBreakers goes to EMCup

Hello everyone!, my name is Riku Simola. I am 24- years old bachelor born and raised in Helsinki the capital of Finland. Im almost too outgoing and social person. I like to think that everyone is a stranger at first. Im not gonna lie, i am a pretty finnish person, loving sauna and beer except ice swimming, that is probably something that i will never ever do in my life. No one shouldn´t be swimming in this far of the north if you ask me. I love painting with cans and street art. Besides studying i work and im also in our student unions board. Looking forward to represent Laurea in the EMCup. The team video, academic paper and all of our social media content is gonna be out of this world! stay tuned.

My name is Sanna Loiviola. I am a fun loving and friendly person, born under the Aries sign, which gives you an idea to my openness and friendliness, but don't forget the fire. That drives me. Behind my smile comes a woman moulded in determination. A mother of four young children, 1 daughter and 3 boys. This alone would be a major job on its own. I run a clean home, filled with order and laughter. Planning, plays a major part in my home and life.   Stability has become a part of our life and yet we have been able to travel as a family; for example, we spent 3 months living in Thailand over the winter months. During this time, I did my first work placement and home-schooled the children and we were able to experience a new culture and what comes with it as a family. IceBreakers ready to take up the challenge! Laurea is participating in international competition of Hospitality management schools We will be honored to represent Laurea in the international EMCup competition next spring.  EMCup (European Mise en Place cup) is a competition between European Hospitality Management Schools. The competition will take place in February 2018 in the Netherlands in Maastricht. Laurea is participating in competition for the second time now. The annual competition is measuring students' knowledge in both business and hospitality fields. There will be 36 schools participating across the Europe. The theme of this year's competition is digitalization in the service sector. This year, Laurea University of Applied Sciences is represented by an effective team of five, which in called the IceBreakers! The team members are Riku Simola, Sanna Loiviola, Bettina Eriksson, Hanna Eskelinen and Shen Ding from the Laurea Leppävaara campus.
